What is Diflucan?
This medication is an antifungal antibiotic. This medication can be prescribed for the patients who have infections caused by fungus. The infections caused by fungus can appear in any part of body, including throat, mouth, lungs, esophagus, genital, bladder, area, and the blood. This medication can also be used by the people who have a weak immune system because of bone marrow transplant, the cancer treatment, or other diseases.
Different doses are prescribed for the patient with different types of infection. For instance, in order to treat vaginal yeast infections, this medication can be prescribed to be used in dose of 150 mg. In order to treat thrush, Diflucan can be prescribed in dose of 200 mg. Before you start using this medication, it is recommended to make sure that you have no allergy to fluconazole and similar medications. This can be clarified by making a special test. Other, severe side effects may also occur, including chills, fever, body aches, flu symptoms, peeling, severe blistering, red skin rash and others.
